After 4-days of staying at home (Saturday and Sunday -> duh weekend; Monday -> Special Non-Working Holiday; Tuesday or yesterday -> on-leave coz I went to DFA for my passport renewal), it's time to go back to work. I had a client meeting in Ortigas and if you let me describe how my day has been, 4 words: what an insane day!! All I had to ask myself was "WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD TODAY!!??" Here are two major things of this kaloka day...
Numero Uno: Tormenting Urban Heat. The formula for that is summer heat (take note, today's temperature is 35 degrees Celsius) + metropolitan smog + tamboocho galore everywhere = P***CHA ANG INIT!! Such wishful thinking that was playing in my head: Diving on a pool filled with ice or Drawing some snow angel in Antartica (even if they're slowly melting due to the Global Warming). The office attire to be worn this summer season just sucks big time. Grabe it was so hot, I saw a mirage... that's a bad sign... Huhuuhu! I even felt the heat coming up from the ground. It was so dehydrating I needed a drink. It was so dumb of me because instead of buying a bottle of water, I bought a cup of coffee. Hindi man lang iced coffee eh! What was I thinking?? Oh yeah I was so sleepy but still, I could've bought something cold!! In addition to that, it was also humid. It's okay if you're in the beach but with this kind of humidity in the metropolis, you can't help but exclaim "Omigosh am I in hell?" Talk about the outrageous effects of Global Warming. Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!Numero Dos: Traffic Everywhere. This was the worse traffic scene I've ever encountered!! Usually, driving from Makati to Ortigas would take me 30 minutes, 45 minutes max. For some weird reason, it was just traffic! It was traffic in Buendia, then traffic in EDSA-Guadalupe, then traffic in Pioneer, then traffic in San Miguel Avenue and still, traffic in Julio Vargas. Okay fine late nako kung late!! Good thing the client was so understanding when I was a little bit late. After the 3-hour meeting, I had to go back to the office: Ortigas to Makati. Grabe traffic parin!! It was traffic in Exchange Road, then traffic in San Miguel Avenue towards Shaw, then traffic in Pioneer, traffic in EDSA-Guadalupe and super traffic in Buendia!! Oh yeah, upon arriving at the Salcedo area, it was also traffic and it was so difficult to find a decent parking. I had to wait for 15 minutes to park at the Valero Carpark (since it's shaded, easy to park and the "nearest").
What a way to start my work week! Right now, I feel loopy because of what happened today. Woooppeeeedddoooo.... I am so getting a thirst-quenching drink... not a bottle of beer but an iced-cold bottle of Gatorade.
