The comeback of the corporate junkie...

Corporate HR... ... here I go here I go!

Hell I'm so effin scared yet excited!!! After 5 years in the consulting side of business, corporate HR has opened its doors for me. Yep, I'll be in the Compensation & Benefits group of a large multinational company.

I feel scared yet excited... Oh yeah I kinda mentioned that a while ago.

Scared... Because this is the first for me to be in Line HR. It's a totally different world from consulting. My work-to-be will affect thousands of employees...

Excited.... Because I will get to apply what I've learned in consulting. It thrills me to get closer into my career mantra: The reason why I wanna be in HR is because this is the avenue to make a difference in people's lives and to be able to let them feel important in an organization.

I've heard so many horror stories about HR (especially in the organization that I'll be working with) but I am ready to face the challenge. Best part is that one of my former colleagues, who's also a good friend of mine, will be in the same company, within the HR group! Now I'm really excited!!

At the same time, I was offered a part-time professor job & will be teaching two subjects: Special Topics in International Business and Compensation & Benefits. Even if the pay is way low, I know in my heart that I want to let the students feel what I felt in the 5 years of my work experience. In a nutshell, this is my way of "paying it forward" to my alma mater.

After two months of being an oven-and-stove-lovin', free-spirited, TV-crazed house-child of the 'rents, I'm back in the corporate world. Bwahahaha!! I needed the rest and I'm back with a vengeance... Hehehehe!

I'll be missing those freetime. Even if I kinda got crazy because I wasn't doing anything every single day, it was an eye-opener for me to discover new talents. I never thought I can cook and bake. The 'rents were happy that I was able to use the stove and oven (we haven't used it in like 4 years or something). I enjoyed the long hours of sleep. I think I was deprived from decent slumber for the past 5 years. I'll definitely miss the nocturnal moments, wherein I wasn't worried on any wake-up calls (well except for Ultimate tournaments every Sunday... thanks Teesya for fervently waking me up... hehehe!).

For the past two months my black and brown pumps were put into rest and so my flipflops and Chucks were very much utilized. Man that was so relaxing! I was just trying on my pumps, whether or not I can still walk on those... Yeheezzzz nakakalakad pa!

Since the time I started working, I barely had dinner with my parents because I had to go overtime. But as I went into house-child status, I was glad that I got to spend dinner with the folks and I even cooked them dinner and lotsa lotsa empanadas and pretzels. They're kinda blaming me for making them fat.... Hehehehehe! But more importantly, I got to bond with them. They're like my best friends in the world. I do wish I get to join them for dinner even if I'll be back onto the corporate tracks.

So what's next after this blog? In a few hours, I'll be signing the contract. In 2-3 weeks, I'll be on-board. In a month, my friend will join the organization and I'm just really looking forward to it.
