Cambodia The Kingdom of Wonder

Definitely the Kingdom of Wonder! This country, which got secluded from the world due to Pol Pot's torment for so many years, has so much to offer. When I arrived, hundreds of tourists from different corners of the planet were excited to see this exotic country.

Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and the Temple Jungle of Tra Prohn (also known as the Tomb Raider Jungle) were just breathless. You can't imagine that thousands of years ago, before the Europeans colonized and conquered most of the countries in Asia, there were these massive temples, with intricate wall details, that were built and established. Just unbelievable! Why go all the way to South America to see the ancient infrastructure of Machu Pichu (you get to spend at least 200Gs to go there) when there is something like this in Southeast Asia! It wasn't a dull moment to walk around, despite its scourging heat because there were so many monuments and temples to see. Some tourists biked around Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom and were just astounded with the view and nature. I got ensnared when I saw a huge moat surrounding Angkor Wat. We were unlucky that we arrived Angkor Wat in its cloudy state. They say that if it's sunny, the temple reflects onto the moat. Too bad. =(

My dad went to Cambodia last year during holy week and he took pictures of different faces and places of the country. It served as an inspiration and followed what he did. But the only difference was that I placed my camera right infornt of their faces and they didn't mind about it. Unlike my dad, he was in stalker, paparazzi mode. Hehe! The Cambodians look like Pinoys: Malay race with brown skin. But when I closely looked at them, there's so much mystery going on. Their eyes seemed to say something. It's up to us what they want to communicate to the world. What is it? What do you think?

Little Mr. Bunot-Head with a funky striped pants

She's cutting out some plants here....

... together with this girl who's all-smiles.

Such a cute toddler! Actually at the back part, his pants were too low his butt was shown.

Old Cambodian Lady... who reminded me of Rosa Rosal, if she gets basked under the sun... Hehe!

Girl bonding. I really stood infront of them and took their picture. I wondered for a bit if I'm some psycho taking random pictures. Hehe!

Played around with my camera and shifted it to color accent. Even local monks are amazed on this World of Wonder.

It was indeed a beautiful experience. The life's still pretty much rural, I thought it actually reminded me of General Santos. My dad compared the country with Manila... back in the 1930's. Hehe! In a nutshell, it's so laid-back!

Next visit will be in Phnom Pehn. It will be nice to see how the capital looks like. Or maybe I can visit its neighboring countries, Laos and Myanmar... wish me luck on the peace issues if in case I get to visit there... Hehehe!
