Cheesemode: Celebration of Friendship the AC Way

Last week's social calendar was pretty full but it's okay because I had a great time catching up with my lovely friends: (1) Pioneers of Ladies Who Lunch - Carmela, Claude, Ros and yours truly and (2) Lazy Sunday Troops - Crisi, Ria and yours truly.

Pioneers of Ladies Who Lunch are also known as the "2-3 Ex School Girls". We've been friends since HS and we ensure to see each other once or twice a month. Through the years, a lot of things happened in our lives. We have grown from chugging alcohol and sneaking cigs from our folks to weekend luncheons and coffee session (wah ang jonders!). This entry might appear to be cheesier if I enumerate our lifelong journeys. Thank heavens to the wonders of BBM, we stay connected on a daily basis. Gotta love BBM, it's like having an afternoon tea party.

Until our next get-together. We'll probably do spinning class or do that FTX class thingee at Salcedo Village.... or go out for lunch and have coffee or tea. Haha!

Pioneers of Ladies Who Lunch... Pwede ring mga "Tai-Tai".... Bwahahaha! (standing: Ros and Claude; seated: Carmela and yours truly). Dinner at 2nd's in BHS. We called it "Ay akala ko Friday" dinner nightout, which was held last Wednesday (November 16, 2011)

Deadliest and most sinful yet super delicious ala melt-in-your-mouth chocolate lava. Yum! Yep we all shared in this fantastic dessert.

The term "Lazy Sunday Troops" was coined last Sunday (November 19, 2011) by Ria, Crisi and yours truly. The reason behind it was that we had lunch and coffee on a lazy sunday afternoon. We initially thought of "Lazy Oafs" but we didn't want to be perceived as sloths or something. Haha! After we parted ways, we wanted to stay connected on a daily basis. Therefore, BBM. Oh yeah, the power of BBM! We needed to come up with a name, so there you go!

Aside from the Ex School Girls, Crisi and Ria have been my friends way back in the early 90's.

Crisi (aka "Laumond") and I were classmates back in grade 5. I still clearly remember her 10th year birthday celebration. She introduced me to chicken-liver-wrapped-in-bacon-type-of-appetizer. From there, it became my favorite. Our friendship solidified when we were in college, during the seventh batch of Days With The Lord. Then at our 10th year high school reunion, we worked together as part of the organizing committee. So yeah, aside from the friendship, we're like corn and peas when it comes to work. She has also become my shopping buddy.

How about Ria? Long way back as well. When I was in grade 5, she was already in her freshman year in HS. We were mass greeters at the 10:30 AM Sunday eucharistic celebration in our neighborhood parish. At the same time, we were also bus mates in Assumption because we live in the same area/vicinity. Back in college, we worked together in the student council. Oh there's a laundry list of adventures and misadventures with her. And our journey together didn't end at the tertiary level. Back in 2006 until 2008, we were both working in the same building. She was my constant luncheon buddy, it was like AC cafeteria all over.

Lunch at Cyma, GB3. Ria was like (in her giddy usual self) "awww how cute, we're all in shades of blue".

Chillax lazy Sunday afternoon... Coffee time!

Reconnecting with good old friends makes us feel young. It's inevitable to go back to memory lane and laugh out those crazy moments back in HS and college. It is for sure that these friends of mine are for keeps until we grow old... perhaps up until we start to pop some Crestor and Lipitor. Hahaha!
