I Miss Teaching

It's been over a year since I stood up in front of 20 to 30 students. Back when I was in Accenture, I was in-between jobs doing the usual comp & ben corporate junkie and a professor at my alma mater. Even if work life for a week was pretty stretched, (exactly 6 times a week to work), I enjoyed every moment of it. In fact, back then I was looking forward to my Saturday classes.

  1. I barely gave quizzes to the ladies. Instead, all the graded activities for them were presentations and reports. Given the latest technology and all the portals of social network, they didn't limit themselves to PowerPoint presentations. Instead, they did AVPs. It was actually exciting to see their report. In the end, their presentations brought out the best in them, in terms of creativity, critical & analytical thinking.

  2. It was a good avenue to know the latest trends in music and fashion. Admittedly, being the old geyser around, I wasn't really updated with what's going on in town. Thanks to the girls, I got to know Kesha. Hahaha!

  3. I didn't treat the girls as student but instead I perceived and dealt with them as adults, who were ready to take responsibilities with what the world can offer to them.

  4. During their breaks, the ladies would sit in one corner and talk about anything and everything, while I remained at the teacher's desk. Maybe I was just lucky to have fun-loving bunch of girls in a block, but everytime they started talking, I couldn't help but listen to their interesting, happy and laughable stories.

  5. All my students were (and still are) pretty. I observed them closely on how their carry themselves. At the same time, I also check out their hair color. Haha!

  6. I had a great time hanging out with them outside the four corners of the classroom.

International Business Block 2008 - 2009. This was my valentines date to them. We wanted to have a change in environment, so we had a class here.

International Business Block 2009 - 2010. Christmas 2009 lunch at Chillis, GB5.

International Business Block 2009 - 2010. Topic was "Recruitment". I had an activity for them wherein we organized a job fair and how they present their organizations to job hunters.

International Business Block 2009 - 2010. Their final exams.

International Business Block 2009 - 2010. Wackehhh!!

I want to go back to teaching. Stupid darn CHED policy on professors finishing their masters/MBA degree, now I have to go back to grad school and finish my STRAMA paper. Oh well, yeah I think that'll be my next big activity for 2012.

In a nutshell, the teaching experience for the past 4 semesters (with numerous hairstyles) was truly memorable for me. :-)
