The actress and the solider have a point on bravery.
Having a brave heart is not that easy. It may be comfortable to say "oh be brave my dear" but to actually do it, in times of crucial situation, bringing out the courage is so hard to do. Being afraid does not lead to good things and does not feel liberating. We become prisoners of our fears when we realize the gravity of our mistakes. Upon the realization, there are two roads ahead of us: to be brave enough and face the music or to escape and leave things like as if it didn't happen. Some people choose the latter road. It feels good at first because people just get away with it, but the events were like ghosts haunting them through different experiences and random thoughts. Some people choose the former. It's excruciating and exhausting but once the hurdle has been passed, it feels so good. From there, people get to organize their thoughts and list down (well mentally) what they have learned from all of these things and have ensured themselves not to commit the same mistakes.
Oh yeah, in this battle, we are not alone. All this time, God has been there with us. Faith makes us strong and holds us up to move along and keep on walking.
