Golden Ticket's Empanada

Woohoo!! I just baked my first empanada!! How did I come up with the idea? I was thinking of some little "rackets" on the side so I bought Entrepreneur Magazine's 45 Home-Based Business Ideas with Leahloo. This was the way to get small business ideas.

The booklet was just laid onto the table until one day I wanted to do something "gastronomic". I started cooking different dish but I realized that we haven't used our oven for the past year. So I picked up the booklet, went to the grocery and started baking empanada.

Why empanada?

My dad loves empanada so much, he would ask me to buy a lot from Red Ribbon. From there, I said to myself "why not bake some for my dad?"

Yesterday, I grabbed the mixing bowls, wooden spoon and the ingredients. First attempt was a total flop. It was burnt on the outside and uncooked on the inside. Second attempt (see yellow plate picture) was quite okay because it became golden brown but it was quite bitter. It lacked sweetness or some salty factor. Third time's really a charm (see red plate picture). I got the perfect recipe for my empanada.

But what really touched my heart was that my parents loved it so much, they ate 4 pieces in one night. My dad kept on eating it like there was no tomorrow.

What's next after this? Well I got the recipe right, the next step is to make the shape perfect, precise, exact and aesthetically pleasurable. Hmmm I smell beezwax opportunity..... Hehehhehe!! Friends!! Support me!!!
