Last Tennis Grand Slam of the Year

After watching the Olympics, another exciting sporting event started, like 2 hours ago. US OPEN 2008!! Taduuuhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I am actually looking forward to this and I am so sure that Roger and Rafa will once again test their rivalry onto the Flushing Meadows, NYC hardcourts. After their epic 5-set battle in this year's Wimbledon Open, people are excited to see them exchange aces, winners and speeding bullet rallies.

So who are my bets for this year's grand slam tourney?? For men's singles, Rafa!! 'Nuff said. But if they'll be able to repeat that Wimbledon-game-of-the-Century, hello nocturnal night! (Yeah, given the timezone, it'll be a long night for me). If Novak Djokovic will reach the Finals, that'll be nice too. I like the kid's passion. I wish his uber supportive family will be there. They're so cute, especially his little brothers (who by the way plays for the Juniors). I remember when I watched the Australian Open, the little brothers were so happy if their big brother gets a score. In return, Novak won the Aussies.

For ladies' singles, many desire Ana Ivanovic to be the champion, but I actually want Dinara Safina to win. But if Ivanovic will win, I'm fine with it. (hhmmm singit thought: what if Ivanovic and Djokovic will win the US Open. Hail to Serbia!) I'm quite disappointed that Maria Sharapova and Justine Henin-Hardenne are not playing this year. The US bets like the Williams Sisters and Lindsey Davenport are playing. Most of the top-10 seeded players are from Russia but as far as ladies' tennis game is concerned, this can be anyone's game: a Russian-dominated finals (deja vu of Dementieva vs. Safina Finals Match at the 2008 Beijing Olympics) or no-Russian-at-all finals or maybe an All-Asian-Finals (a good number of Japanese and Chinese players are participating).

I have always loved the Grand Slam products. Of course they're pretty pricey but what I love the most is this Ladies' Shirt, which was designed by Heidi Klum. It's US$40.00 or around Php1,800. Much more expensive than a Nike cotton shirt but if I had the opportunity to be in the tournament, I will so buy that shirt! It's so CUTE!!! Boo to copyright churva but thanks to Snag-It, I was able to save this oh-so-cute shirt.

Well, it's gonna a breath-taking, jaw-dropping and captivating 2-week Grand Slam Tournament. If you guys are curious where is the tournament aired, it's shown at Balls, Channel 34 at Sky Cable. Not sure for other cable-providers.
