It's All About Tennis....

...uh-huh! September 8-10, 2008... these dates were just all about tennis....

1. Sept. 8, 2008 - Woke up at 4:30 in the morning and watched the continuation of the Men's Semifinals between Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray. I was quite sad when Rafa lost. I was looking forward to Rafa and Fed's match, just like in this year's Wimbledon. I also watched the Ladies Singles Finals Live. Serena Williams vs. Jelena Jankovic. Williams won her 3rd US Open. Serena was a real amazon. She's such a powerful player. Jankovic was consistent with her rallies. Her longest rally was almost 30. Oh yeah and I just loved her outfit by Reebok (man I don't think they're selling here in RP). It's so effin chic! The yellow dress with a silver belt and her windbreaker... Ooohh so girly!! Now I wanna have one.... Huhuhuhu....

I actually wanted her to win.... But hey I didn't know that silver and yellow can go well...

2. Sept. 9, 2008 - Woke up at 5:00 am just to watch the Men's Singles Finals. Roger Federer vs. Andy Murray. I wanted Roger to win. I realized that maybe it's still his time to bag his 5th US Open. NYC has become Roger's turf. At night, I watched the documentary of Wimbledon Open. They highlighted the unforgettable moments from 1990-1999. That was the decade I started playing Tennis. It was also the decade of the Tennis royalties: Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf. It was also the decade of the rising teenage Tennis Stars: Martina Hingis, Venus Williams, Anna Kournikova (oh she was good back then before she became an entertainment mole) and Jelena Dokic. While watching the highlights, I realized something: I've been a fan of Tennis for more than 10 years. When they showed some of the winning moments back then, I actually remembered them.



Roger's victory.... He looked like he fell-off from the sky like big time... But in the match he was really happy.

3. Sept. 10, 2008 - Yeah I'm still awake. Just an hour ago, I got to watch ACE ESPN. I saw the latest WTA (Women's Tennis Association) rankings. Serena's number one, since she won US Open. They also showed an interview with Dinara Safina and they asked her about a "TV show with Ross and Rachel as one of the main characters" (obviously it's Friends).... She didn't know the answer... Apparently she hasn't been watching TV.... Or do they air Friends in Russia?? Hmmm...

Through the years, new talents have risen in the courts and current stars will put down their curtains as they give way to these new talents. It was like yesterday Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi rocked the Tennis world, to this date, it's all about Roger and Rafa, plus a little bit of Novak and now Andy Murray's starting to rule the scene. I still wanna see more of Jankovic in the next tournaments, the girl's really talented and consistent in her shots. I've had enough of the Williams amazonas.

Well, gotta hit slumberville.... Zzzzz.....
