I should've posted this long time ago but things have gotten crazy in the office due to the planning period and other activities here, there and everywhere. Oh well I guess it's not to late to share this to the universe. Hehehe!
Some of my friends know that I got 2 jobs: corporate slut and academic bugaw. Hehehe! Yep, I'm also a part-time college professor.
I've always wanted to teach ever since I was a kid. And when I was in college up until I graduated and started working, it was clearer to me that I really really really want to teach. I always believe to pay it forward to the youth what we have experienced in the real world, so that they will not be ignorant to what is happening around. In a nutshell, I wanted to teach because I want to make a difference in the lives of the youth.
I was just waiting for the right time and the perfect opportunity.
Until Sir Rick (who was my professor at Business Policy) called during my 2-month hiatus from corporate toxicity. He's currently the associate dean of International Business (that's my course, I took that because that may be my avenue to marry an ambassador, be the ambassador's wife and entertain other ambassadors from different countries and rave about the latest caviar freshly caught from the deep ends of the ocean... hahahaha just kidding!) and they were looking for alumnae to teach part-time. Without a doubt, I said yes.
So I was given to teach 2 subjects: Selected Topics in International Business (4th year International Business students) and Compensation & Benefits (2nd year HR students). For the past semester, it's been a great ride! Not only I imparted what must be learned by the students, but also I learned so much from them. It just gives me joy when these ladies have been naturally cordial, passionate with their lessons and brave enought to take challenges. It just makes me smile.
February was like the concluding moments with my classes. Yep, I had classes last Valentines and I took the girls out..... For a morning coffee! (Kala niyo gimik noh? Hehehe!) I had fun with these girls because I got to hear their dreams aspirations after college, despite the current shitty situation in the economy and labor environment.
You see that girl in the pink shirt? That's Addie's little sister! Man, I dunno if I'm just getting old or what.... Hahaha!
Those are my uber-kulit girls and Vicky (long-haired girl at the rightmost side) the block rep

My 4th year class at our Valentines Coffee Big Group Date (1)
My 4th year class at our Valentines Coffee Big Group Date (2) ... Tracy has arrived!
One of these days, I'll ask my 2nd year students if we can all go out together. It's been a serious semester for them, since C&B is a serious matter. Yes mates, I can be serious sometimes. Hahaha!
If given the opportunity again to teach, I will say WHY NOT?
