Project Holy Week

Holy Week... The perfect moment to reflect and renew your faith to God and thanking Him for all the blessings He has given (although let's keep in mind that we do not just do that only in Holy Week).... A wonderful opportunity to rest and hibernate like bears in the forest during winter (ah p**cha ang labo ng comparison.. pero true naman right?).... And of course, DVD-Marathons!! Wooohoo!!

But in the Santiago household, it was just bonding time. We called it "Project Holy Week". Instead of going out of town (omigosh like it was so hot back then), we all stayed at home and guess what we did? WE SCANNED OLD PICTURES!

My dad just got the mojo to make PowerPoint presentations using our latest pictures. I guess the old man felt the nostalgia buzz and asked us to retrieve albums from our chest and scan all of them. Oh yeah, after placing the pictures at each slide, he integrated some songs to it... Career! Haha! I was telling my dad that he can make montage and digital presentation for weddings and other celebrations when he retires.... like after 10 years.... The old man will definitely not get bored. He said in times like these, precious moments must be preserved.... digital style... Hehehe!

We had the entire day to scan pictures: When my parents weren't married yet (in 70's linggo, "mag steady" pa sila 'nun... laugh trip!), then my early childhood moments, travel adventures and lots lots more. But I just got amazed to see baby pictures of my folks. Gosh they were so cute! (Guess that's where I got my cute looks... Wehehehe!)

My mom had like a lot of studio pics and she was dressed in doll-liked dresses. She looked like a doll that every girl wants to own.

"The toddler who seeks the corporate feeling". That's my mommy. I think she was like 1 year old here.

"Victorian era-ish... Hey that's mommy's name!" My mom looked so cute and dainty here... I just love the hat and dress...

My dad knew how to smile ever since he was a baby. Such a happy kiddo! Oh yeah and he had cute straight hair. I just wondered, my dad didn't have some fancy studio-pic like my mom. I guess as a rural boy of Cabanatuan City, photo studios were all located in Manila.

Oh he was swimming at some "sapa" butt naked... so I just cropped him up and left his cute face

Of course, last but not the least it's GladzalwayshappY! Well I have a lot of baby pics but this was my first time to see this pic.

"Sweet silent slumber". My mom said I was 2 months old. This was a few days before my baptism. My mom looked so lovely with the orchids on her side.

It was truly refreshing to see old pictures. I felt so young after seeing (and scanning) all of them. While doing this, my folks and I just shared so many stories, as we looked at all the pictures.

Afterwards, my dad finished 3 PowerPoint presentations of our pictures: Our cars through the years, my Mom's US trip and Trip Back to Nostalgia Lane.

So what did you do last Holy Week?
