Oysters = Yumness!!

It's a known fact that oysters are pretty pricey in restos and bars. The only "not-so-bad-the-price-for-oysters" moment I had was when my former clustermates and I had flavored beer and oysters at Grappas. As far as I can remember, one platter was at around Php 260.00. Since we were 4, we only paid Php 70.00, inclusive of VAT. Not bad actually...

But thanks to Momma's discovery, one of the participants at the Salcedo market sells oysters at Php100.00 for 10 pieces!! Hey that's one heck of a deal heh!!! So she initially bought 10 pieces of oysters. Right after buying it, she realized that she has no idea how to cook 'em. So she asked the seller some tips and the seller instructed her to boil the oysters until it opens. Afterwards, dab some butter. So that's what my mom did.

Momma raved about the oysters the next day. She went home early and cooked those oysters. Upon my arrival from the grueling environment of corporate slavery, I got so delighted to see this...

I immediately sat down, got some rice and chicharon (or pork rinds) as an additional ulam and ate like there was no tomorrow. After my dinner, indeed I was a happy girl... Heheehe!! And just look at the "after" plate...

RIOT!! I thought it would be better if I had a bottle of ice-cold beer while eating oysters, but hey, I was not in toma-mode. Maybe next time.

Moving forward, as part of my personal internet breaks for detoxification, I have been looking at recipes on how to cook and serve oysters. With that good deal in Salcedo market, well what can I say, let's have an oyster/beer(or if chichi mode: white wine)/cheese party! I'm not sure if the combination will funk up our tummies, but I can just imagine that it's gonna be so damn good once we are in the actual situation. Saaaarrappp!!

I'm not really a super fan of oysters. They're good, but I'm just not a super fan. Haha no aphrodisiacs for me, eh? :P
