Wow Shooshyal...

Last week, I got surprised and overwhelmed when I saw this on my desk...

I was like "what on earth is this phone??? it's so hi-tetchhh..." So I couldn't help but ask our IT what in heaven's name is this phone. He said that it's a VOIP phone. So here I was, the ignoramous me, asked again.. "hah?? anu yun??" Then he started explaining it (but first he had this look on how to explain it in the simplest way). He said that we can go telebabad with our regional and global colleagues using this phone, as it is internet-enabled already. In other words, our international calls will not be reflected at our PLDT bill, since this phone is already connected to the internet. This phone's actually connected to our PC's, so maybe you can say na isa siyang pinasosyal na LAN cable din... Hehehehe!!

In addition to make telebabad with regional and global colleagues, we do not need to dial their telephone number. All we need to do is dial their "cisco IP phone extention" and there you have it, chika galore na kayo. Less cost on the company and more convenient to communicate with colleagues. This goes to show that it is indeed a small world after all. Or to put it bluntly, I'm so sorry pero wala akong takas talaggguuuhhhh... Huhuhuhu!!

In the meantime, we could not make any outside calls locally and globally using this phone because they have to fix the phoneline setup with PLDT. For now, we have two phones (shucks clutterville! :P) but by November, we will only have one phone, which is this shooshyal phone.

This phone is so complex, there's actually a one-day training on this. Howmagosh... a training just to use a phone... Since we're still waiting for a feasible date on this training, I'm just relying on the manual. Basically I'm still figuring out how to use the phone.

Hay grabe, telephones have truly evolved... it was like yesterday, back when I was a kid... eto pa ang telepono.... mga de-ikot ang dialer... Hahahaha!!
