It's been 12 years since I went to the Land of the Rising Sun and I still aspire to go back to Japan. I was so fascinated with the fusion of traditional and über modern & eccentric Japanese culture. They're so ahead of their time and their difference between the rest of the East Asian nations is unexplainable yet amazing. Let me just save up a few bucks for the semi hefty expenses (i.e. air fare, hotel and pocket money) to be made so that I can trott around to other places such as Osaka and Kyoto.
My motivating factor why I want to go back to Japan is to buy the "Japanized Kit Kat" bars. Like a lot of those goodies. Thanks to the wonders of micro blogging and social network, people could not help but rave about it. Mostly, they posted on Green Tea and Japanese Strawberry Flavored Kit Kat. It made me curious because it's really strange to have such flavors but at the back of my head, I actually want to try it out.

Then an opportunity to taste the "Japanized Kitkat" came a few months ago. Carmela, who's my HS barkada and very much crazed to the country, went to Japan last summer. She bought a lot of Kit Kat bars, 'nuff said. So she gave me Green Tea flavor.

| Green chocolate wafer. Nomnomnom! |
Just last month, my officemate went to Osaka for an Ultimate Frisbee competition. When he came back, I immediately exclaimed "Kit Kat Kit Kat Kit Kat!" Of course I was just joking. But then days after the Kit Kat demand, I kidded him (again) about "Kit Kat". Ta-duhhhh.... Meron!
| I didn't know that you can write messages at the chocolate package itself. Wow what a thoughtful approach. |
At the official website, the "Japanized Kit Kat" has over 100 flavors. As I researched further on this, turns out that their best seller is their soy sauce flavor. Again, it's peculiar and the part of the "norm" or conventional but we may never know until we try. Hmmm.....

There's a Japanese convenience store in Greenhills that sells these. I think I also saw some in this small store in Metrowalk. You don't have to go to Japan to get them. :)
Ah talaga? Ohhhh must check that out. :-)
